What exactly does Decode File do?

You drop in an important PDF — insurance policy, employment offer letter, NDA, or legal agreement. Decode File reads it, identifies the document type, and gives you a complete analysis of terms, gaps, timelines, and risk flags in plain English. No jargon, no marketing spin.

Which document types do you support?

Insurance policies, employment offer letters, NDAs, and legal documents. Within insurance, we still support health, vehicle, term life, and LIC or investment-linked plans. The type is auto-detected from the document.

Can Decode File read other languages?

Accepted Answer

Yes for text-based PDFs. We detect the source language and use an AI translation pass before decoding, while preserving names, amounts, dates, and clause references. Image-only scans and photos need OCR, which is not part of this release yet.

Is this financial or legal advice?

No. Decode File gives you a complete analysis for clarity, in plain English. It is not legal, financial, employment, tax, or regulated insurance advisory advice. For decisions with real consequences, please consult a qualified professional.

What happens to my uploaded file?

Files are kept private to your account. We never sell your documents or use them to train third-party AI models. You can delete any uploaded document from the "My documents" tab at any time, and the document, decoded report, and related history are permanently removed from your account.

Do I need to create an account?

You can try the sample decode without signing in. To upload your own document, you'll need to sign in via a magic link (email-only, no password). If you choose a file first, we'll continue that upload after you finish signing in on the same device.

How much does it cost?

Free plan: decode one document, see the full breakdown. Premium (₹999 for 1 year, no auto-renewal) includes up to 500 completed documents, Q&A on decoded reports, PDF downloads of the original and decoded report, and priority support.

How accurate is the decode?

Insurance templates use a mix of known matchers and rule-based extraction. Employment, NDA, legal, and multilingual documents use AI-backed decoding with neutral, explanatory output. We're transparent about confidence — if anything looks off on the report, tell us via Feedback.

Can you support my specific document format?

Probably. If your decoded report looks generic or misses fields, send us the document type and what felt unclear via Feedback and we'll prioritise it.

Do you store my card or payment details?

Accepted Answer

No. Payments are handled by our payment provider. We never see or store your card number, UPI handle, or bank details — only the payment status and transaction ID.

Can I get a refund on Premium?

Yes, within 7 days of purchase if you've created reports for no more than 2 documents and haven't downloaded any report PDF. See the refund policy for details.

Can I export my data?

Yes. Email us at support@decodefile.com from the email linked to your account and we'll send you a full export (original files and decoded reports) within 72 hours.

What file formats are supported?

PDF is the supported format in this release, up to 20 MB. Text-based PDFs can be in any language. Image-only scans and photos need OCR and are planned for a later release.
